Heading towards thinking and this is where the Six Thinking Hats come in. A great and an innovative way to individual thinking and group discussion, it is a fundamental way to analyze several aspects of learning and human behavior. The salient states of this tool are Information, Emotions, Bad Points Judgment, Good Points Judgment, Creativity, and And Thinking. Each state is defined by a color such as:
- Information is white: Looking for facts
- Emotions are red: signifies passion when one could be impulsive
- Bad points judgment is black: this is when one is looking for errors
- Good points judgment is yellow: looking for identifying harmony
- Creativity is green: an assimilation of thoughts or a riot of thoughts
- Thinking is blue: thinking about thinking
The six thinking hats are metaphorical in nature. These are used to arrive at a conclusion and to introduce parallel thinking. Ordinary thinking is not goal-oriented; however parallel thinking places thoughts into perspective and can lead to solutions in projects. Kudos to wonderful tool!
