Past Delegations

The Alliance for U.S. India Business (AUSIB), formerly known as the US India Business Alliance (USIBA), has been both a pioneer and an innovator in taking Governor- and State-led missions to India.  We have organized and/or facilitated successful missions to and from India. AUSIB has also organized delegations to India by senior Members of the U.S. Senate and takes a number of its own business delegations to India on an annual basis.  Below is a glimpse of some of our past delegations.

April, 2005: Trade Mission to India led by Governor Mark Warner (D-VA)
This was the first of the many gubernatorial visits to India by a US Governor.  The trade mission delegation comprised of over 65 business people. AUSIB hosted the delegation in a reception in Mumbai for the delegates with leaders from the Indian Film Industry to promote VA’s technological strength.

November 9&10, 2005: Delegation from the Entertainment Sector
AUSIB coordinated a delegation to Washington, DC from India’s Film Industry (Bollywood). AUSIB invited and hosted this delegation and is working closely with lawmakers from both US and India, as well as the top producers from India to curb illegal sale of Indian film and entertainment products in the U.S. For more details

January 14-16, 2006: Trade Mission to India led by Senator Max Baucus (D-MT)
AUSIB coordinated the trade mission to India led by Senator Max Baucus (D-MT), Chairman of the U.S. Senate Finance Committee.  AUSIB coordinated meetings for Senator Baucus and B2B meetings for the accompanying delegates.

March 10 – 18, 2006: Trade Mission to India led by Governor Vilsack (D-IA)
AUSIB organized and managed a 25 member trade mission to India led by Governor Thomas J. Vilsack (D-IA). The group comprised of businesses, academicians and agricultural experts. AUSIB coordinated all aspects of the trade mission including government and business meetings, facility tours, B2B meetings, receptions and networking events. AUSIB hosted a delegation of businesses from India led by the ASSOCHAM, New Delhi.  AUSIB arranged business meetings and receptions for the visiting group.

AUSIB assisted in coordinating meetings for the Treasurer in Delhi and Mumbai.

October 9, 2006: Trade Mission from India led by State of Gujarat
AUSIB was engaged in arranging B2B meetings for the delegates and also hosted a forum entitled “Cooperation on Trade and Investments” in New York, which was keynoted by Congressman Steve Israel (D-NY).

Feb. 12 to Feb. 17, 2007: Trade Mission to India led by the State of Alabama
AUSIB coordinated the trade mission for the State of Alabama and organized B2B meetings for the participating delegates, which resulted in serious business opportunities.  The delegation was described as a "tremendous success" by all of its participants

March 21-29, 2007: Trade Mission to India led by the State of New Mexico
AUSIB coordinated the trade mission to India managing all aspects of the trade mission including logistics, political and business meetings, networking receptions and facility tours.  Post this mission AUSIB was recruited by the State of New Mexico to represent the State in India.
